Our story begins junior year of high school...
Greg and Sarah attended many of the same social functions and were beginning to hang out with the same crowd of people. They were introduced during a Valentine’s Day party at a mutual friend’s house. Throughout that spring and summer, with the help of their friends’ strategic planning, Greg and Sarah were partners in flashlight tag and scavenger hunts, and began to get to know one another.
By August, Greg had worked up the courage to call Sarah and ask her out on a date, but the timing wasn’t quite right. He was leaving for a week-long vacation at the beach, and the day he returned, Sarah was leaving for two weeks. School then began, and they continued with their normal routines, until... November, Catholic High’s Harvest Ball dance.
Sarah had taken a date that was just a friend, and Greg had gone with one of Sarah’s classmates. They were at the dance with their respective dates, but ended up at the same after-party. They just “clicked” and stayed up all night long, talking about anything and everything. About 5 a.m., Greg asked if he could kiss Sarah.
The next day was Thanksgiving, and Greg called Sarah. They began dating and then realized that they lived only three streets apart. Their first date was at a Curley high school wrestling tournament, how romantic! Greg and Sarah became serious about one another and became an “official” couple late in 1998.
